Baltimore Real Estate is about to change - AGAIN! Port Covington, a "mostly forgotten" area on the southside of the Locust Point resurgence, and close to the Baltimore's famous Inner Harbor is on the move. Realtors, real estate agents and brokers are already beginning to line up to get in on the action. Land deals are being made and clients are being recruited.

In mid-2002, the world's largest retailer, Wal-Mart, opened its first Baltimore City store at Port Covington in South Baltimore, just south of Locust Point. Wal-Mart and Sam's Club are the first retailers to locate in the new Port Covington Shopping Center , a 60-acre, waterfront site on East Cromwell Street. This commercial development began to attract the focus of those seeking waterfront homes.

Now there are plans underway to bring about a renaissance to the section of the South Baltimore Peninsula known as Port Covington. Work is beginning on the Port Covington Maritime Center, containing a boat and yacht repair service and a soon-to-be-developed first-class marina complex - Winans Cove Marina.

In addition to commercial development we will see much activity in residential real estate development. Beautiful new townhomes will be built, expanding the availbility of first-class waterfront and water-view homes on Baltimore's Southside.
